Welcome to my Hike for Discovery blog! If you didn’t know it already, I am training this summer for a three-day hike in September on the Wonderland Trail in Mt. Rainier National Park while raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). I can’t think of a more worthy cause to contribute to, nor a better way to spend the summer than hiking many of the awesome trails we have here in the Puget Sound area.
In the months to come I will also share here what I learn about the LLS, the diseases, the work being done to find cures, and the hikes of course! Use the tabs above or page links to the right.
Be sure to also check out the links on the Blogroll to the right. These are sites you should visit to learn more about the people that blood cancers affect.
I sincerely appreciate that you were interested enough to visit here, and look forward to any and all support that you can give. You can visit my website to donate, or the click on the Ron’s Hike Page link on the right.
Please leave a comment below, and be sure to check back often!
Ron,
Again, I cannot thank you enough for your hard work and dedication that you portray in your mission to work with the LLS and determination to help fight blood cancers. We have spoken a few times, and you know that I think you’re an amazing person and that should not go unnoticed. Earlier this week I was awarded for a blog award, and part of accepting the award is awarding others with the same award. I have chosen those that have written sites that have personally touched me and have displayed selfless acts of kindness and sincerity. This award that I am giving to you is the “Brilliante Weblog Premio 2008″ Award. I do believe that you truly do deserve it, as you have touched so many lives, including me. I hope you accept the award and display it proudly. You can read more what I had to say about your site and pick up the award on my site. Again, I hope you do accept, and thank you again for your thoughts, prayers and dedication to me and others like me!
